Does NMN Support Endurance? Mike’s 12-Month Arcwell® NMN Results

What We Learned From Mike’s 12-Month Arcwell® NMN Trial

After sharing his progress at 3 and 6 months, cyclist Mike from Bikes by Mike has now completed a full year with Arcwell® NMN. His 12-month results include a higher FTP, strong endurance performance, and some valuable insights into what long-term NMN supplementation looks like in the real world.

For an entire year, cyclist and content creator Mike from Bikes by Mike incorporated Arcwell® NMN into his daily routine while following a structured cycling program and carefully tracking his performance.

For the first six months, Mike took 250 mg of Arcwell NMN daily. He then increased his intake to 500 mg daily for another six months. Throughout the year, he tracked FTP, aerobic endurance, training volume, HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, fatigue, recovery, and race performance. And after 12 months, there were several encouraging results.

Mike increased his FTP from 274.5 watts to 279 watts, maintained strong long-distance performance, matched his personal-best normalized power during a 4.5-hour Gran Fondo, and completed more annual training than in previous years. So what can we learn from a full year of NMN?

A Full Year of Positive Performance Trends

One of Mike’s clearest objective results was his Functional Threshold Power (FTP).

Functional Threshold Power (FTP)

Milestone FTP (Watts)
Baseline (Pre-Trial) 274.5 W
~6 Months 279.0 W
Net Improvement +1.6% (+4.5 W)

For an experienced cyclist, even relatively small improvements can be meaningful. His endurance performance was encouraging as well.

During a 150-kilometre Gran Fondo lasting approximately 4.5 hours, Mike produced 203 watts of normalized power, matching his personal-best performance for a ride of that duration. Earlier in the season, he also achieved a fifth-place age-group finish in a solo eight-hour mountain bike race. These results don't allow us to isolate the effect of NMN from Mike's structured training, nutrition, recovery, and other variables. But they do show that Mike maintained consistent NMN supplementation alongside a year of strong training and positive performance trends.

What Happened When Mike Increased From 250 mg to 500 mg?

At the six-month mark, Mike increased his daily Arcwell NMN intake: 250 mg → 500 mg

Rather than experiencing a sudden stimulant-like effect, Mike's performance continued to develop gradually alongside his training. That's an important distinction.

NMN isn't a pre-workout or stimulant designed to produce an immediate burst of energy. Interest in NMN instead centres on its role as a precursor to NAD⁺, an essential coenzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism and numerous cellular processes.

For Mike, increasing from 250 mg to 500 mg did not produce an obvious additional performance spike. His experience was better viewed across the full year rather than judged by whether he felt an immediate effect after taking it.

Mike’s Experience Meets Emerging Human Research

Mike's results become particularly interesting when viewed alongside emerging human research.

A randomized, double-blind study involving 48 recreationally trained runners investigated NMN supplementation alongside exercise training. Researchers reported greater improvements in certain measures related to ventilatory threshold among participants receiving medium and higher amounts of NMN, although significant between-group improvements were not observed for VO₂max or peak power.1

Other controlled human research has shown that 250 mg of NMN daily can increase whole-blood NAD⁺ levels in healthy adults.2

A separate study in older men also reported increases in blood NAD⁺ and related metabolites following NMN supplementation and explored potential changes in physical function.3

Human research is still developing, particularly when it comes to exercise performance. But these studies provide an important scientific context for why NMN continues to attract interest among people focused on healthy aging, cellular energy metabolism, and maintaining an active lifestyle.

What We Learned After 12 Months

Mike's full-year experience wasn't about finding a miracle performance enhancer. It was about consistency.

Over 12 months, Mike:

  • Increased his FTP from 274.5 to 279 watts
  • Maintained strong long-distance cycling performance
  • Matched his personal-best normalized power during a 4.5-hour Gran Fondo
  • Finished fifth in his age group in an eight-hour mountain bike race
  • Completed more annual training than in previous years
  • Consistently incorporated Arcwell NMN into his daily routine

Because this was a real-world individual experiment rather than a randomized clinical trial, we can't determine how much NMN contributed to these results.

But Mike's positive performance trends, combined with emerging human research into NMN and NAD⁺, make his year-long experience an encouraging real-world story.

And perhaps most importantly, Mike stayed with the experiment for an entire year. No overnight promises. No dramatic before-and-after claims. Just consistent supplementation, consistent training, and a full year of data.

Why Quality Matters When Choosing NMN

If you're considering adding NMN to your own healthy-aging routine, product quality matters.

Our approach is built around three principles:

  • Purity
  • Effective Dosage
  • Transparency

Arcwell® NMN provides:

  • 250 mg NMN per capsule
  • High-purity > 99.8% NMN
  • Quality testing for identity and purity
  • Made in Canada
  • Vegan and non-GMO

Mike chose Arcwell NMN for his year-long experiment, allowing him to use a consistent NMN source from his first dose through his final 12-month review.

Ready to Add NMN to Your Routine?

You don't need to be a competitive cyclist to be interested in healthy aging. Whether you're cycling, running, hiking, strength training, or simply looking for ways to support an active lifestyle as you age, NMN is an increasingly studied part of the broader conversation around NAD⁺ and healthy aging.

Mike's experience gives us one real-world perspective. Human clinical research gives us another. And we'll continue following the science as it develops.
