Yes, indeed. All Arcwell products are meticulously formulated and packaged in Victoria, BC, Canada, within a GMP-compliant facility, VitaHelix Nutraceuticals Ltd. This facility holds a valid site license approved by Health Canada, ensuring stringent quality standards. Our manufacturing process takes place in an ISO 8 pharmaceutical-grade clean room equipped with a state-of-the-art HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter system. This meticulous setup guarantees precise particle control and maintains the utmost purity of the air within the production area.

At Arcwell, we prioritize quality assurance, and one way we achieve this is by handling the production of our dietary supplements in-house. This approach sets us apart from most other companies that opt to outsource production, allowing us to maintain direct oversight and control over every aspect of our product's quality.

Glutathione in “reduced” form is the active state that has functioned as an antioxidant to be able to neutralize free radicals in your body.

That's a great question! A case study of liposomal glutathione (GSH) showed that GSH levels increased 28-40% after 1 week's intake of 500 mg dose. However, this study only had 16 patients without a placebo control group, making the results less reliable. A clinical trial of capsule GSH in 54 adults for 6 months showed an increase of 17-29% GSH levels. If you look at the "other ingredient" of the liposomal product, it contains lots of phospholipids and other additives that your body doesn’t need. You get 450 mg of glutathione by taking 5 mL serving (~5 g). Yes, it might have better absorption, but you also get way more other stuff that your body doesn't need. We prefer the capsuled powder glutathione as I get fewer "other ingredients'' for the same dosage, with comparable efficacy.

We suggest taking Glutathione 1 capsule per day. And please remember that do NOT take glutathione together with any minerals such as Zinc/Magnesium in order to achieve the best results. Take it at least 2 to 4 hours apart from the minerals. Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions.

By definition, fasting is the abstention from eating and sometimes drinking, therefore in the ideal fasting scenario one should consume water only. However, fasting can be modified in accordance with your goals to obtain better results. If your goal is losing weight many supplements including NMN won’t change your insulin profile thereby having no negative effects on your fat loss. If your fasting goal is to increase NAD+ levels to improve mitochondria health and metabolic function, having NMN when you are fasting will likely increase even further. But if your goal is detoxification, water fasting is your regimen!

We recommend taking NMN in the morning with or without a meal or 30 minutes prior to exercise.

It is not necessary. It was suggested by Dr. David Sinclair based on his own research. However, there is no clinical trial on combination of two supplements together yet. I think at the end of the day it's all up to you. Please feel free to contact us at support@arcwell.ca if you have further questions.

Here is our suggestion. If you get all 4 Arcwell products at once, you may take NAC together with Glutathione during the breakfast with a meal, and NMN together with trans-Resveratrol at lunchtime with or without meals.

If you just take NMN, we suggest taking it in the morning with or without a meal or 30 min prior to exercise.

If you take NAC and/or GSH, we suggest taking in the daytime with a meal. And a special note: since the compound contains sulfur, don’t take it together with any minerals such (Iron, Zinc, Magnesium, etc.). Please take it at least 4 hr apart from the minerals or multivitamins.

If you just take trans-Resveratrol, anytime could be fine.

The chemical name "3-(Aminocarbonyl)-1-(5-O-phosphonato-beta-D-ribofuranosyl)pyridinium" shown on our label is the accurate IUPAC (formal) name of NMN. This was suggested by Health Canada to be displayed on the label. Please find this link from Health Canada indicating NMN's proper name is 3-(Aminocarbonyl)-1-(5-O-phosphonato-beta-D-ribofuranosyl)pyridinium.

NMN can be called "Nicotinamide Mononucleotide", "beta-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide, or " the most accurate chemical name "3-(Aminocarbonyl)-1-(5-O-phosphonato-beta-D-ribofuranosyl)pyridinium". But still, we are talking about the same ingredient, which is NMN. The reason you find this chemical name on our label is suggested by Health Canada upon the approval of NMN product license.

Yes, Arcwell NAC is vegan-friendly. We do not use any animal products or by-products in our ingredients. Furthermore, our ingredient NAC is sourced from the United States with Kosher and Halal certification.

The current human research on NMN suggests that the longest human clinical trial conducted involved a 12-week administration of 250mg NMN daily. Published reports on NMN's long-term safety and clinical efficacy for anti-aging effects in humans are limited.

It's worth noting that even though we do have customers continuously taking NMN for over a year and feeling great without reported issues. When they stop taking it, some individuals have reported feeling a lack of energy. However, each person has unique NAD+ levels, diet, and lifestyle factors, making it a case-by-case scenario. We suggest paying attention to how your body feels and making decisions based on your individual experience.

If you have any further questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to let us know. Your well-being is our priority.

All our products are formulated with high purity (99.8% of raw material) and effective doses backed by HUMAN CLINICAL TRIALS. In a recent 2022 human clinical trial focusing on the daily administration of 250 mg NMN (Ref 1), profound bioavailability was observed post daily intake. Hence, this is the recommended dosage based on the latest scientific findings.

It's noteworthy that Prof. David Sinclair, a prominent figure in the field, has recently adjusted his daily NMN intake from 1000 mg to 500 mg.(Ref 2) The ideal dosage varies for each individual, contingent upon factors such as existing deficiencies in the targeted supplement. To initiate your NMN supplementation journey, we advocate commencing with 250 mg and closely monitoring how your energy levels evolve.

For those leading an active lifestyle, we advise taking the supplement 30 minutes before engaging in physical exercise for optimized benefits.

Besides, we're pleased to offer pure NMN Powder as an option for those who wish to customize their dosage, as it comes with a convenient scoop delivering 250mg per scoop.

The decision between taking NMN in powder or capsule form depends on your personal preferences, lifestyle, and any specific considerations you may have. Here are some factors to consider when making your choice:

  1. Taste and Convenience: If you prefer to avoid the slightly sour taste of NMN, the capsule form would be more suitable since it allows for easy intake without directly tasting the powder. On the other hand, if you don't mind the taste or prefer a more customizable dosage, the powder form might be better.
  2. Stomach Sensitivity: Some individuals may experience stomach upset when taking NMN capsules on an empty stomach. If you are one of them, the powder form could be a preferable option since you can mix it with food or liquids to minimize any discomfort.
  3. Absorption Speed: NMN powder is generally absorbed faster than capsules, as it doesn't need to dissolve in the digestive tract. If rapid absorption is a priority for you, the powder form might be more appealing.
  4. Effectiveness: Both the capsule and powder forms have demonstrated excellent absorption in human clinical trials, making them effective choices for enhancing NAD+ levels.
  5. Lifestyle and Convenience: Consider your lifestyle and daily routine. Capsules may be more convenient for on-the-go use, while the powder form might be more practical for mixing into drinks or foods at home.
  6. Dosage Flexibility: If you prefer to have more control over your dosage, the powder form allows you to adjust the amount of NMN you consume easily. Capsules typically come in pre-determined dosages, which may or may not align with your specific needs.

Ultimately, both forms of NMN have their advantages. Consider your preferences, any potential sensitivities, and your lifestyle when deciding which form is best for you to ensure it aligns with your health goals and needs.

In the realm of trans-resveratrol, a noteworthy human clinical trial involving postmenopausal women (ref) revealed cognitive decline improvements with resveratrol administered in capsule form, taken with water. It's crucial to emphasize that fat is not indispensable for resveratrol absorption or its functionality within the body.

Ref: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5295071/

All the human clinical trials on resveratrol and NMN have been conducted individually. Therefore, it is not entirely clear whether there is any positive synergistic effect between these two molecules when taken together. Most of our customers choose to take them together, either in the same meal or on an empty stomach when they are still in a fasted state. People opt to combine them based on David Sinclair's statement that these two would work better when taken together. However, there is no clinical trial evidence to support this, but I personally prefer to take them together.

Regarding the warning about consulting a physician for use beyond 6 weeks for NMN, this suggestion was required by Health Canada. Since NMN is a relatively new supplement on the market, it is Health Canada's way of playing it safe.

Pterostilbene vs. trans-Resveratrol: Pterostilbene, often referred to as methylated Resveratrol, is an intriguing compound sharing similarities with trans-Resveratrol. Some studies suggest that Pterostilbene may exhibit higher bioavailability and superior absorption compared to Resveratrol, but it's crucial to note that these findings are limited to in vitro and animal studies.

Emphasizing the importance of human clinical trial data is essential, as it provides more reliable insights than both in vitro (lab dish) and in vivo (animal) studies. Notably, there is currently no proven efficacy directly linked to the improvement of bioavailability. For your reference, attached is a compelling human clinical trial on trans-Resveratrol, showcasing increased cerebral blood flow after the administration of 250 mg and 500 mg of trans-Resveratrol.

Resveratrol demonstrates high oral absorption (approximately 70%) in humans, yet its systemic bioavailability is relatively low, around 0.5%, resulting in limited presence in the blood plasma. The primary reason for this reduced systemic bioavailability is the swift metabolization of resveratrol into sulfate and glucuronide conjugates. Additionally, the gut microbiota contributes to further metabolizing resveratrol.

Although it is thought that resveratrol has low bioavailability, the evidence of its bio-activity, supported by more than 200 published clinical studies, seems unquestionable. Numerous systematic reviews and meta-analyses have reported positive associations. Therefore, it is clear that the low levels of resveratrol found in blood plasma are not telling us the whole story, and resveratrol is considered to have high bio-efficacy.

We pride ourselves on sourcing our active ingredients from various countries worldwide, including Switzerland, the US, and China. Specifically, our NMN powder is sourced from China and formulated and packaged in our GMP-compliant facility in Victoria BC, Canada. However, what truly matters to us is not just the origin of these ingredients, but rather the rigorous quality control and testing measures we implement to ensure the highest standards for our raw materials.

At Arcwell, we take quality seriously. Each batch of raw materials undergo meticulous testing, including in-house High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for purity assessment, NMR spectrometry for precise chemical structure identification, and third-party certified lab analysis for heavy metal and microbial contaminant screening. These comprehensive measures guarantee that our products meet the highest quality standards.

Arcwell was founded by three scientists in Victoria BC and our mission is to provide high-purity dietary supplements with scientifically proven results to improve your health. We want you to have the correct information to make proactive decisions about your health vs. being reactive and treating illness.

Our ingredients are sourced from various locations around the world such as Switzerland for our Resveratrol, the US for our NAC, and China for our Glutathione and NMN. We are meticulous in selecting our suppliers and work with trusted partners who share our dedication to quality. Our aim is to provide pharmaceutical-grade supplements that meet the highest standards. To ensure the purity and quality of our ingredients, we have rigorous testing procedures in place. Each ingredient undergoes thorough testing both in-house and by reputable third-party laboratories. Our standard is to achieve a purity level greater than 99%, exceeding industry norms.

Additionally, we believe the best way to oversee quality is to produce our dietary supplements ourselves. Our ISO 8 clean room is a GMP-compliant facility approved by Health Canada. Unlike other companies that outsource production, we have oversight of raw materials, testing, and packaging of the finished product.

We do offer NAD+ direct precursor "NMN" in a powdered form. NAD+, as a co-enzyme, is not chemically stable for room temperature storage. Therefore, the most effective way to elevate your NAD+ levels is by taking the direct precursor "Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN)."

Based on human clinical trials, a daily intake of 250 mg of NMN has been shown to increase NAD+ levels, providing valuable support for your health.

I hope this information helps answer your question. It's also worth noting that Arcwell NMN powder is the first Health Canada approved product of its kind in the market with a valid product license (NPN number).

We understand that the chemical names of organic molecules can be perplexing, especially without a background in chemistry. It's important to recognize that organic compounds often go by various names. In the case of NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide), it can also be referred to as "beta-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide" or, in its most accurate chemical form, "3-(Aminocarbonyl)-1-(5-O-phosphonato-beta-D-ribofuranosyl)pyridinium." Rest assured, regardless of the nomenclature, we are referring to the same essential ingredient, NMN.

Our NMN is of the highest purity, exceeding 99.8% by HPLC analysis. The chemical name you find on our label aligns with Health Canada's recommendations. You can verify this information on Health Canada's website by visiting the following link:

Fisetin is a bioactive flavonoid found in fruits and vegetables such as strawberry, apple, persimmon, grape, onion, and cucumber at concentrations in the range of 2–160 μg/g (as below figure).Fisetin found in fruits and vegetables

Fun fact: 100 mg pure fisetin is about consumption of 60 strawberries. Fisetin has shown numerous interesting biological activities with clinical potentials including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and neurotrophic effects.

Additionally. Fisetin holds a notable reputation as potent senolytic for its role in eliminating senescent cells, aka "Zombie cells”.

Ref: Khan, N., Syed, D. N., Ahmad, N., & Mukhtar, H. (2013). Fisetin: a dietary antioxidant for health promotion. Antioxidants & redox signaling, 19(2), 151–162.

  • Senescence is the consequence of a signaling mechanism activated in stressed cells to prevent proliferation of cells with damages. In other words, cellular senescence is a state in which cells cease to divide and undergo changes in function. Senescence can be triggered by various factors, such as DNA damage, telomere shortening, or stress.
  • Senescent cells can accumulate in tissues over time and contribute to aging and age-related diseases by secreting inflammatory molecules and affecting surrounding cells. They are sometimes referred to as "Zombie cells" because they are alive but no longer function as they should.
  • Senolytics are compounds or therapies designed to selectively induce the death (or clearance) of senescent cells. They target and eliminate these dysfunctional cells, which accumulate in tissues with age and contribute to age-related diseases and degeneration. Senolytics hold promise for potentially delaying aging and improving healthspan by removing these harmful cells from the body.

Ref: Annu Rev Pharmacol Toxicol. 2021 January 06; 61: 779–803.

Combatting senescent cells involves various approaches aimed at either preventing their formation, eliminating existing senescent cells, or mitigating their harmful effects.

Here are some strategies:

  1. Lifestyle Changes: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, a balanced diet rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory foods, and adequate sleep, can help reduce cellular stress and the accumulation of senescent cells.
  2. Fasting: Some studies suggest that intermittent fasting may help reduce the accumulation of senescent cells and promote their clearance through mechanisms like autophagy, the cellular process of degrading and recycling damaged components.
  3. Senolytics: As mentioned earlier, senolytic compounds such as fisetin, and quercetin, have shown senolytic properties in preclinical studies, indicating their potential for selectively target and eliminate senescent cells. These therapies are actively being researched and developed as potential interventions for age-related diseases.

Fisetin offers several health benefits:

  • Senolytic: Targets and eliminates senescent cells, aiding in anti-aging efforts.

  • Anti-Inflammatory: Reduces inflammation throughout the body.

  • Antioxidant: Protects cells from oxidative stress.

  • Neuroprotective: Supports brain health and cognitive function.

  • Potential Anti-Cancer: Shows promise in inhibiting cancer cell growth.

While most of these health benefits are supported by preclinical data, a double-blind, randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial involving 37 colorectal cancer patients receiving 100 mg of fisetin for seven consecutive weeks has indicated an improvement in the inflammatory status, suggesting fisetin's potential as a complementary therapy (ref1). Additionally, ongoing human clinical trials are exploring further benefits as the following table (ref2).

Fisetin backed by human clinical trials

Ref1: Farsad-Naeimi, Alireza et al. Food & function vol. 9,4 (2018): 2025-2031.

Ref2: Mechanisms of Ageing and Development 200 (2021) 111591

The dosage of 100 mg of Fisetin per day has been deemed safe, as supported by human clinical trials conducted on cancer patients, aimed at reducing inflammation. Additionally, Fisetin is a natural flavonoid abundantly found in fruits such as strawberries, apples, onions, and cucumbers, further reinforcing its safety for consumption.

Arcwell Fisetin is isolated from Rhus succedanea, a plant known for its high fisetin content. With a guaranteed purity exceeding 98%, Arcwell Fisetin provides a premium, concentrated form of this natural compound, ensuring both its efficacy and safety for use as a dietary supplement.

Arcwell Fisetin stands as the first Health Canada approved Fisetin available in the Canadian market.

At Arcwell, quality is our utmost priority. We subject each batch of raw materials to the finished products to rigorous testing, including in-house High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for purity assessment, NMR spectrometry for precise chemical structure identification, and third-party certified lab analysis for heavy metal and microbial contaminant screening. Through these meticulous measures, we ensure that our products consistently meet the highest quality standards.

Mix creatine monohydrate with water or a non-acidic beverage. For optimal absorption, take it with a carbohydrate-rich meal or post-workout shake.

Taking creatine post-workout is beneficial as your muscles are more receptive to nutrients after exercise. Consuming it with a carbohydrate-rich meal or shake can further enhance absorption by increasing insulin levels, which helps transport creatine into muscle cells. Studies have shown that the presence of insulin, stimulated by carbohydrate ingestion, enhances the uptake of creatine into muscles. This synergy between carbohydrates and creatine maximizes nutrient uptake, enhancing muscle recovery and performance. This is why it is often recommended to take creatine with a carbohydrate-rich meal or post-workout shake for optimal absorption and effectiveness.

Ref: Antonio, J., Candow, D.G., Forbes, S.C. et al.  J Int Soc Sports Nutr 18, 13 (2021).

Yes, older adults can benefit from creatine supplementation. It helps maintain muscle mass, improve physical performance, and support cognitive function.

Research has shown that creatine supplementation in older adults can enhance muscle strength and endurance, reduce muscle loss associated with aging, and improve overall physical performance. Additionally, creatine may support brain health by improving cognitive functions such as memory and processing speed. From a clinical and healthy aging perspective, it is recommended that creatine supplementation be combined with resistance training to produce the greatest adaptations in older adults.

Human clinical trials indicate that long-term creatine use is safe for healthy individuals when taken at recommended dosages. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any supplement regimen.

Yes, creatine can cause temporary water retention in the muscles, leading to a slight increase in body weight. This occurs because creatine draws water into muscle cells, which can enhance muscle hydration and size. This effect is typically not harmful and often diminishes with continued use as the body adjusts to the supplementation. The increased water content in muscles can also contribute to improved muscle function and performance during high-intensity exercise.

Yes, creatine has been shown to support brain health and improve cognitive function. Long-term high-dosage supplementation can increase brain creatine stores, enhancing cognition and memory, particularly in older adults and during times of metabolic stress like sleep deprivation.

A study involving 45 young adult vegetarians demonstrated that oral creatine supplementation (5g/day for six weeks) significantly improved working memory and intelligence test scores, highlighting the importance of brain energy capacity in cognitive performance. It also aids recovery from traumatic brain injury in children and may reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. However, it does not significantly benefit conditions like Parkinson’s disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Generally, there are no known adverse interactions between NMN, Trans-resveratrol, and Fisetin, so taking them together is considered safe for most people. If you prefer to be cautious, you can take NMN and resveratrol in the morning and Fisetin at lunchtime or with dinner. This staggered approach may help you gain the benefits of both supplements while minimizing any potential interaction effects.
